Australia recovered from 82/5 to rack up 244/6, led by a blazing 132 not out by Sri Lankan Test player Suresh Perera. Perera hit 13 fours and 7 sixes in his 85-ball innings, which was the third-highest score in O40I history.
The World Series Cup over-40s tournament starts today in Brisbane. The competing nations are: Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada (CCMC). Each country is entering its national side, and also its “A” side. The national teams and “A” teams will compete in separate tournaments.
