Fox Sports Australia have secured the rights to the upcoming IMC Over 40s T20 World Cup Final to be played on Monday December 1 in Pakistan at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium.
It is anticipated both Fox Sports and Kayo will air the World Cup decider live across Australia at 6pm AEDT, with the Aussies amongst the contenders to reach and win the final.
Host nation Pakistan will start the tournament as favourites, however Australia, West Indies and South Africa all boast the short format power and quality to lift the trophy, whilst USA, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe will also play a role in determining the eventual champion of the inaugural IMC Over 40’s T20 World Cup.
Justin Poole, Chairman of Cricket Australia Masters Over 40s, said:
“We are delighted that Fox Sports will air the World Cup Final across Australia.
“Masters cricket in Australia is the fastest growing age group category, and this growth will only accelerate as we gain more exposure through partners such as Fox Sports.
“In such a big 6 months for the game across all age groups and formats, we are hoping our Australian team will be there on December 1, lifting the first ever IMC T20 World Cup trophy.”
Australia play two warm up Internationals on November 19 and 20 against Pakistan and West Indies respectively prior to their first game of the IMC World Cup against Sri Lanka on November 22 at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium.
