In Over 40s World Series Cup action from yesterday, Australia and Canada had wins.

Australia’s 99-run win over New Zealand was almost a repeat of their Round 1 encounter. Australia batted solidly and piled on a very good score of 259/7. Greg Hunt was again excellent, scoring 63 before he had to retire, while Cos Beadle also continued his good form, hitting 77.
New Zealand’s scores in this tournament have been 175, 161, 164, and 221, so it was unsurprising that they against folded for just 161.
In the North American derby, Canada’s innings of 226/8 was completely dominated by former West Indies international Royston Crandon, who smashed an amazing 143* from 104 balls – the second-highest score in all O40Is. No one else reached 20.
The Americans fought hard but ended up falling 23 runs short as Rajkrishnan Rajagopolan took 4/42.
These results mean that USA qualify for Wednesday’s final against Australia, while New Zealand will play Canada for third and fourth.
