The Over-40s World Over 40s World Series Cup tournament resumed yesterday after rain disrupted the schedule for a couple of days.

New Zealand beat Canada by 63 runs in a low-scoring match. The Kiwis total of 164 didn’t look great as only Steven Hobson (38 from 42 balls) looked comfortable. Former West Indies ODI player Royston Crandon was again the best bowler, taking 3/32.
The NZ pace bowling was top-notch again, taking Canadian wickets steadily, before off-spinner Sansar Gulia took 3/15 on debut as Canada were rolled for 101.
Australia also had a convincing win, against USA. All 7 Australian batsmen reached double figures, and 3 of them went on to pass 50, as the tournament hosts rattled up 254/5.
USA were briefly in the hunt at 103/4, but a direct hit runout by Steven Paulsen turned the tide and the Americans fell over for just 146.
